    The Story of Basingstoke

    Travel back in time to experience some of the changes that created the Basingstoke we know today. Meet Pickaxe, a 19th century farm worker forced to scrape a living as a scavenger. Our 1960s sitting room and kitchen transports you back to the days of teddy boys and twin tubs.

    Sainsbury Gallery

    This magnificent new venue hosts exhibitions from the most important galleries and museums in the country as well as some of the finest artists in the region.

    Basingstoke Gallery

    Enjoy the work of local artists, groups and societies in the Basingstoke Gallery on the first floor. This gallery has restored to reveal many original features, creating a top quality space for community exhibitions

    Drop into the stunning new Café Willis

    Complete with marble fireplace, crystal chandelier and hand printed wallpaper, the café serves a range of coffees, speciality teas, locally made cakes and pastries.
