Gulshanah is a Barrister with a particular expertise in Special Needs Education Barrister. Her eldest daughter aged eight, has Down's Syndrome and her youngest daughter is five years old. In her spare time, Gulshanah also sits on the Professional Conduct Committee for the Bar Standards Board and is an independent advocate for the Loddon School in Hampshire, a residential school for the severely autistic children.

Gulshanah also has a passion for mental health and writes for TV and stage. Her first full length play on mental health, My Daughter's Trial is debuting in Southampton in the Spring.
