Member Profile - Councillor Peter Mason

Peter Mason has been a member of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police Authority for almost 12 years and Chairman of the Community Engagement Committee for 3 years. He has been a member of Winchester City Council for 13 years and a member of Hampshire County Council for almost 12 years.

Peter Mason was born in Chandlers Ford in 1941. He attended Itchen Grammar School and started working life with Cunard Line for 10 years, but most of his working life was spent in the electrical industry with Wellco Electric and 3M before taking early retirement and then driving ambulances for Hampshire Ambulance Service.

He has been married to Jackie for 48 years with 2 children, Clare and Philip, and two grandchildren, Thomas and James.

Peter Mason has been a member of the Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society for 52 years and is a volunteer fireman and driver. He is also interested in speedway racing and supports Poole Pirates. Unfortunately he doesn't have any other hobbies as he doesn't have the time!
