South Winchester Park and Ride
The County Council is building a new park and ride site near Bushfield roundabout, south Winchester. The following pages explain more about the scheme.
The County Council’s Regulatory Committee unanimously approved the planning application for the Itchen Farm site – known locally as the Tarmac site, in July 2007 and on 9 April 2008 the Leader of the Council gave the final funding approval for the scheme to proceed.
The main construction work started on 20 April 2009 and will take a year to complete including undertaking associated road improvements at Bushfield Roundabout. The new Park and Ride site is programmed to open Spring 2010. The main highway construction work will commence on 8 June 2009 - see the latest press release.
