Calshot Activities Centre Open Day

Sunday 15 April 2012, 10am - 4pm

Hampshire County Council’s renowned outdoor centre near Southampton will be throwing open its doors to the public this spring. Visitors can enjoy a wander aroundthe historic, former RAF base and perhaps try out an activity (subject to availability) free of charge.

Planned activities include climbing, ringos, archery, skiing, snowboarding and kayaking. Spectators will be able to watch a special track cycling event and the Lifeboat Station is going to be open to the public. The Calshot Field Studies Centre will feature some fascinating displays, including their aquarium and some ‘hands-on’ activities, such as beach scavenging.

For all those working up a thirst, our Spinnakers Bar will be selling snacks and beverages during the day.

To celebrate the start of the watersports season, Calshot is offering Hampshire residents the chance to win a taster

session at the centre.

The winner can choose from either:

  • A Watersports Taster for two adults (choices include dinghy sailing, windsurfing or sit-on top kayak); or

  • A Family Taster for two adults and two children (choices include dinghy sailing or sit-on top kayak)
