Good Neighbour Award Scheme 2011

Nominate your good neighbour!

The closing date for nominations is Friday 15 July 2011

Winners will be invited to a special ceremony in Winchester on Tuesday 20 September 2011.

Do you know someone who makes a difference in your community and especially to you? Would you like to nominate them for an award?

The Good Neighbour Awards, introduced seven years ago, give you the opportunity to publicly recognise the support of volunteers and neighbours who provide you with that ‘bit of help’ to stay independent at home.

It is often the small things, such as getting to the shops, collecting prescriptions, or keeping the garden tidy. Maybe you know an individual or a local voluntary group, who helps make these tasks easier. This is your chance to say thank you to them. Here are some comments from last year’s nominations:

“They are always the first to step forward and offer help at any time”
“She is a rock to me, always there day or night.”

This award has been created by Hampshire County Council in partnership with Age Concern Hampshire, Brendoncare Club Hampshire, Carers Together, the Good Neighbours Support Service and WRVS.

Please remember that individuals and groups cannot be nominated more than once for an award and this award is not open to residents in Portsmouth and Southampton.
