The 2008 Hantsweb Awards Ceremony
Receiving the award had an instant positive outcome for me when the runner up in the Silver Surfer category, a professional web design company, who I pipped at the post, approached me during the buffet and asked me to work on a web/radio project with them.
Listeners to my radio station were delighted at the news of the award and many of them telephoned the station to congratulate me.
It’s wonderful for the listeners because they feel they own the radio station and they’re really proud of everything we do. Going forward the award will help us secure further funding which will enable us to enhance the service to our listeners. I knew nothing about building web sites, but I knew about art and built the site from an artistic point of view and that’s why it looks different.

www.giddylimits.co.uk has only been going for a year and it meant a great deal to us to be recognised for what we have achieved. It was also inspiring to see the huge variety of websites representing organisations across the spectrum.
Gerry Granshaw- Editor - Giddy Limits, - Runner-Up of the Best Silver Surfer Website
I really enjoyed the Hantsweb Awards event. There were some very worthy winners but we were just amazed to be finalists! Hart haven't had a webmaster for two years since the original webmaster left. We changed the responsibility for developing web content to the Corporate Improvement Team in April and have made significant progress over the last few months. The awards have acted as recognition to our content team that their efforts have been noticed, which has given them a huge boost of confidence.
