Hantsweb Awards Launch in association with Axon
The Hantsweb Awards 2007 launched its nomination period in spectacular style at Wildern School on Tuesday 13th February. Three up-and-coming bands performed to an audience of over 200 very enthusiastic pupils. The event was compered by top breakfast DJ Steve Power of Wave 105.
A music gig was chosen to launch the Awards as a fun and exciting way of demonstrating what success can be achieved through a great website - as all our bands will testify. Many new acts are breaking through in this way, which shows how influential the internet has become.

Dead! Dead! Dead!

Southampton-based rockers Dead! Dead! Dead! are a four piece progressive indie band who have been together since 2003. After putting out two very popular four track EP's which sold out in a few months, their debut single George lassoes the moon was released last year through indie lable Tough Love records to much critical acclaim.
Playing alongside the Arctic Monkeys and beloved of many BBC Radio 6 DJs, the band is one of the hottest acts on the local Indie scene.
Hear them now before they become HUGE!

Lynfield

Named after a small town in New Zealand, Lynfield are difficult to pigeon-hole.
Their vibe runs the gamut from acoustic balladeers to loud guitar rock and punk protagonists, through a tangled web of genres in between.
Their sound and style is constantly evolving as new sound ideas are added and new collaborations occur.

Arthur

Fleet based indie band `Arthur' kick started the launch of this year's Hantsweb Awards.
Spawning comparisons with artists as diverse as The Cure, Tori Amos, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Skunk Anansie, the band has a very diverse sound.
This originality is also reflected on their website.
