Making savings with Smarter Working and Smarter Commuting

What do a ferry, a chicken, a river, a tomato-greenhouse, a folding-bike and a bus have in common?

To find out take a look at the new MATiSSE (Mobile And Teleworking Initiative for a Smarter South East) 2008 Smart Commute Week highlights video.
Cameras followed a few of the many local organisations - large and small, in the public, private and voluntary sectors - who, like Hampshire County Council, ran their own initiatives in support of the nationally supported Smart Commute Week campaign. With many businesses and individuals feeling the pinch as a result of the current economic slow-down, you can also pick up a number of useful tips on how to easily reduce business and personal travel costs and at the same time reduce damaging CO2 emissions.

You can make your own smart-commuting and smart-working moves by additionally visiting the new Smarter Commuting section of the eHampshire website. Be sure to take a look at the Smarter Commuting webcasts where you can learn about Tax Efficient travel, energy efficient home-based working and the time and cost saving benefits of on-line meetings or 'web-conferencing'. You'll also be able to register and get involved in the 2009 Smart Commute Week initiative.
