Hampshire, one of Great Britain's most beautiful counties is to be on the schedule for a special visit by the UK travel trade.
The Hampshire Group Travel Showcase takes place on Saturday 2 to Monday 4 November when the group of 30 coach and tour operators, will enjoy a fact-finding visit and sightseeing tours of some of Hampshire's finest attractions, including one or two hidden gems.
The tour will feature attractions such as Gilbert White's House and the Oates Collection in Selbourne; the Hawk Conservancy Trust in Andover and the iconic Winchester Cathedral. Whilst in Winchester the VIPS will take in the famous Great Hall and the Round Table.
The popular Milestones attraction in Basingstoke takes the group back to bygone Hampshire years - as will the nearby Basing House and the National Trust's property The Vyne, near Basingstoke.
The group will also be calling into Alton to see the Allen Gallery and local attractions, which has been arranged by the Alton Visitor Group of local businesses.
A tour to Whitchurch and its unique Silk Mill sets up the final visit for the operators - a trip to the Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium.
The guests will also be able to meet and do business face to face with the local tourism industry during a Meet the Tourism Industry Workshop at the Hampshire Court Hotel, which will be a chance for local attractions to arrange new bookings from the tour operators attending the showcase event.
The Hampshire Group Travel Showcase has been arranged by Hampshire County Council, Alton based Steve Reed Tourism Ltd who are a UK group travel specialists.
Hampshire County Council's Executive Member for Economy, Transport and Environment, Councillor Seán Woodward, said: "The event is the second such familiarisation we have had in Hampshire over the last two years. This showcase is targeted mainly at the attractions in the north of the region, previously we had covered destinations and venues further south.
"The event is a great way to generate new bookings of groups of visitors into Hampshire, each coach with their own spending power. I would like to thank the attractions and the Hampshire Court Hotel, Basingstoke for helping us to arrange this high quality showcase for our tourism industry."
