Community associations and village halls in Hampshire are set to benefit from £37,127 thanks to grants from Hampshire County Council.

At his Decision Day (27 September 2012) the County Council's Executive Member for Culture and Recreation, Councillor Keith Chapman awarded grants to eight community organisations across the county in the current financial year.

Village halls and community associations give residents the opportunity to participate in a range of local activities and initiatives. This latest round of funding will be used for a number of projects and improvements to help the organisations better meet the needs of their local communities, including developing a playground for pre-school children, building and lighting improvements and enhancements, and facility upgrades.

Councillor Keith Chapman, said:
