Military Hub Benefits From County Council Grant Funding

Thursday 25 October 2012

Military communities across Hampshire will benefit thanks to a grant from Hampshire County Council.

At his Decision Day (25 October 2012), Leader of Hampshire County Council, Councillor Ken Thornber, awarded funding of £4,900 to the Services Employment and Enterprise Network (SEEN), to further improve their online services.

SEEN, is a non-profit organisation which works to employ members of the military community - particularly spouses and partners of serving soldiers, dependents, wounded, injured or sick service leaders and also civilians living within military communities.

The funding will be used to buy equipment to further develop the SEEN website to integrate a member area for networking and sharing information, and accessing online training. Services on the website will include CV building programs, careers guidance and a job search facility.

Councillor Thornber, said: "As a local authority we want to recognise the contributions and sacrifices of the armed forces community and make Hampshire a home that welcomes, supports, and provides opportunities for those who have served, and for their families.

"The Services Employment and Enterprise Network provides vital resources to Hampshire's military communities. This project will help provide members of those communities with the tools and support they need to find employment."
