North Hampshire church benefits from County Council grant funding

A church near Andover will benefit from a modern makeover, thanks to financial contributions from Hampshire County Council.
At his Decision Day (13 December 2012), Leader of Hampshire County Council, Councillor Ken Thornber, awarded funding of £5,000 in the current financial year, and £5,000 in 2013/14, to the Holy Trinity Penton Mewsey Parochial Church Council to upgrade the church's facilities.
The church on Chalkcroft Lane, will use the funding towards a new kitchen and also an extension on the current building which will be used as a crèche, meeting room and for other community activities.
Councillor Thornber, said: "The Holy Trinity Church is hundreds of years old, and a cherished building for local residents. Hampshire County Council is pleased to be able to support them to be able to provide an improved service to the community."
