Community organisations to benefit from County Council funding

Six community associations and village halls across the county will benefit from grants approved by Hampshire County Council's Executive Member for Culture and Recreation.
At his Decision Day on 21 January 2013, Councillor Keith Chapman awarded grants totalling £19,556 for a variety of projects including building improvement and repair work, boiler replacements and refurbishments.
The full breakdown of grant funding is as follows -
Colden Common Community Association, Winchester - £4,948
Horndean Community Association, East Hampshire - £1,334
Houghton Parish Hall, Test Valley - £6,588
Kingsclere Village Club, Basingstoke - £1,372
Michelmersh & Timsbury Jubilee Hall, Test Valley - £2,264
Westside Community Association, South Ham, Basingstoke - £3,050
TOTAL - £19,556
Councillor Chapman said: "Village halls and community associations are a valuable asset in every local area and vital in providing an activity hub that brings together local people of all ages.
"The County Council's contributions enable improvements to be made to their buildings, equipment and facilities, which helps to ensure that they continue their valuable work within the community."
