Businesses can switch and save on energy

Businesses can switch and save on energy tariffs if they sign up to Hampshire County Council's backed Switch Hampshire scheme before 25 November.
A privately run care home in Farnborough has just used Switch Hampshire to make projected savings of over £38,000 a year on their energy bills - over £24,500 on electricity and £14,129 on gas.
The care home manager commented on the saving: "This is a tremendous saving for us and Switch Hampshire certainly took the hassle out of finding a new tariff. We were really happy with the service Switch Hampshire provided and found the advice offered very useful."
Hampshire County Council's Executive Member for Income and Capital Resources, Councillor Mel Kendal, said: "The Switch Hampshire scheme for small and medium businesses is now well under way and I'm delighted that it has helped this organisation make such substantial savings. Any other businesses interested will need to sign up by 25 November."
The scheme is free and registration is quick and easy via Switch Hampshire with businesses under no obligation to switch and it is estimated to save businesses up to a full day of time in terms of looking for and switching energy tariffs themselves.
Once a business has registered online, an energy expert from the scheme will contact them and ask for some basic information, before searching for a better tariff. If they choose to accept the new tariff, Switch Hampshire will help the business through the switching process and also provide post contract management to ensure everything goes smoothly.
National figures suggest only 16 to 22 per cent of small or medium businesses switch energy supplier regularly, as comparing tariffs is difficult and the procedures needed to switch can be complex and time consuming.
There are over 72,000 small and medium size businesses in Hampshire and Switch Hampshire aims to save them time and money by assisting them with the process of searching for a better deal and switching.
The next household scheme will be launched on 10 December 2013.
