Employment Information

HC3S employs approximately 1800 staff within kitchens across the whole of Hampshire and parts of Wiltshire and Dorset, in primary, special and secondary schools.  HC3S also provides a catering service to a number of commercial sites; Hampshire County Council country parks, Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, the restaurant and coffee shop for Hampshire County Council staff in Winchester, Basingstoke and Winchester Discovery Centres and Calshot Activity Centre.

Primary School Jobs

Unit Manager

Working in this busy fast paced school kitchen you'll manage a small team in the preparation and cooking of lunchtime meals for primary school pupils.  With responsibility for ordering stock and ensuring that correct procedures are followed, you'll also use your communication skills to motivate and lead your team.

As the first point of contact with the school on a day to day basis, you'll provide excellent customer service and build relationships with both children and staff.

Experience of working in a relevant catering environment is essential and you must be physically able to life tables and chair and kitchen equipment.

Cook Supervisor

Working in a fast paced busy school kitchen, leading a team of Catering Assistants to provide an effective catering service to primary school pupils, you'll prepare, cook, serve and pack (where applicable) the required amount of meals and serve them to the school at the correct time.  You'll also be required to setup/clear the school hall of tables and chairs on a daily basis and carry out cleaning duties.  Experience of working in a relevant catering environment is essential and you must be physically able to lift tables and chairs and kitchen equipment.

Catering Assistant

Working in a fast paced busy school kitchen, you'll need to be able to work at pace and as part of a team. Duties will include preparing/cooking and serving lunchtime meals to primary school pupils together with other general kitchen tasks which include cleaning duties.  You'll also be required to setup/clear the school hall of tables and chairs on a daily basis and must be physically able to lift tables and chairs and kitchen equipment.

Secondary School Jobs

Chef Manager

Working in this busy fast paced school kitchen you'll lead, motivate and manage a small team in the preparation and cooking of food for secondary school pupils.  With a strong focus on food quality and customer service you'll ensure food safety management procedures are practised, while maintaining high standards of food preparation and quality control.

As the first point of contact with the school on a day to day basis, you'll provide excellent customer service and build relationships with both pupils and staff.

Deputy Chef Manager

Working in this busy fast paced school kitchen supporting the Chef Manager to provide an effective catering service to secondary school pupils, you'll prepare and cook a wide range of menu items ensuring everything is ready for service on time.  As well as deputising for the Chef Manager when required, you'll assist with catering for functions.  You may also be required to setup/clear the school hall of tables and chairs on a daily basis and carry out cleaning duties. Experience of working in a relevant catering environment is essential and you must be physically able to lift tables and chairs and kitchen equipment.

Catering Assistant

Working in a fast paced busy school kitchen, you'll need to be able to work at pace and as part of a team.
