As part of the Heritage100 outreach project for the National Motor Museum, postcards were distributed far and wide throughout the New Forest!
In cafes, libraries, community centres, service stations and childrens’ book bags these postcards found their way into people’s hands and asked them to donate a motoring story or a memory of a journey of escape, holiday or freedom.
Many fascinating motoring memories were collected. In the 'Gallery' you can see three interesting examples - an encounter with a horse in the New Forest, childhood memories of travelling by car in the early 1960's and going on an adventure with mum on the drive home from school.
Many more motoring memories were placed on a newly created website and can be seen via the link in the 'Details' section.
