When you submit a form the information you supply will be logged within our computer system in the same way that we ourselves record information received by telephone, mail or visits in person. If you can provide us with the necessary details using this web page then your enquiry, report or application will be processed quicker by our staff.

The Enquiry, Defect or Licence Application

To report a pothole, faulty street light, or any other type of problem on a road in Hampshire,

If you want to place an object on or around a road or pavement, you must apply for the correct licence or permit. This includes:

  • skips
  • scaffolding
  • building materials
  • signs

All licences are available for specified periods, please see conditions of individual licences. If you are unsure which licence to use please contact us for advice.

There are two ways to apply for a licence from Hampshire County Council:

  • Online Form - fill in all the details and send electronically. We will then send you a printed licence application in the post for signature and return.
  • Printable Form - fill in all the details and return it to your local highways unit.
