Yateley
Attractions and places to visit | Travel and visitor information
The largest parish in Hart District, it extends northwards from the A30 trunk road to the River Blackwater, which is the county boundary with Berkshire. This rapidly developing township includes the area of Darby Green and Frogmore, also the majority of Blackbush Airport. St. Peter's Church dates from the thirteenth century.
There was a lot of activity in the area at the time of the Civil War and a number of infamous characters such as Captain Blood, Parson Darby and Guy Fawkes are associated with Yateley. Throughout the nineteenth century Yateley gradually developed into an area of substantial housing and is one of the fastest growing communities in this part of the country. The Yateley Centre (a large community centre) provides adult and further education as well as social facilities. Yateley Common is now a designated Country Park.
Further information on attractions to discover in the area and other interesting villages to visit is available. For information on public services for Hook please take a look at the Yateley local pages.
