Hampshire's local pages

The Hyde Parish, formerly a ward of Fordingbridge, was formed in April 1979.  It is made up of the hamlets of Furzehill, Ogdens, North Gorley, Hyde, Frogham, Blissford, Stuckton and a section of the Forest that has evidence of occupation since the Stone Age.

The higher parts provide panoramic views over the Forest and the countryside towards Bournemouth, the Purbeck hills, Shaftesbury and Salisbury. The church, two chapels, primary school, three pubs, village hall and two shops, one a sub-post office, provide focal points for the community.

Further information on attractions to discover in the area and other interesting villages to visit is available.  For information on public services for Hyde please take a look at the Fordingbridge local pages.
