Hampshire's local pages

Three miles North of Romsey, the Parish of Michelmersh and Timsbury lies on and immediately East of the River Test. The name means "large marsh", and the village of Michelmersh is centrally situated in the Parish, with the smaller village of Timsbury to the South.

The manor was first recorded in a Saxon charter of 985, and was a possession of Mottisfont Priory. The Parish Church of St. Mary has many 12th Century features, and Manor Farm close by dates from the 13th Century. The Parish is criss-crossed by numerous footpaths and brooks feeding the main river.

Further information on attractions to discover in the area and other interesting villages to visit is available.  For information on public services for Michelmersh please take a look at the Romsey local pages.
