One of the volunteers at Wessex Film and Sound Archive, John Moxley, suggested this item because:
'Radio Victory was an independent radio station broadcasting to Portsmouth and the surrounding region from October 1975 until June 1986. Wessex Film and Sound Archive holds many of their original tapes, which I have listened to and digitised as part of a project with Bournemouth University.'

John Moxley has been a volunteer with Wessex Film and Sound Archive since the early 1990s and has worked almost exclusively on local radio tapes. He has also worked on a project for Bournemouth University, digitising independent local radio tapes held by WFSA, including many from the Radio Victory collection (AV1).

The sound archive held at the Wessex Film and Sound Archive at Hampshire Archives and Local Studies comprises broadcasts on 1/4 inch tape, and covers documentaries, news reviews, magazine programmes, dramas, advertisements, special reports, arts series, comedy, leisure programmes, social issues, religious broadcasts, and interviews.

Also surviving are advertising scripts, studio diary, plans of building, and magazines.
