Hampshire County Council is embarking on an ambitious project to plan the development and implementation of a large array of IT systems related to children.

The project could include procuring replacements for

• Our schools’ Management Information System (currently SIMS)
• reporting to parents (currently SIMS Learning Gateway)
• our learning platform (currently Wizkid)
• and other systems.

We are very keen to understand schools' requirements for ICT in the future. Your input is not just important, it is essential: it will help us select our partner for the next ten years.

Do you have to look in too many places to find the information you need? Is data sometimes out of date? Is access restricted to too few people? Perhaps it’s so dull that it’s a chore to use, or too complicated? Please consider real-life examples in and out of your school.

Or join the Schools' Workstream Group

This will have a big impact on you so it's vital to have your input to determine the right supplier to work with us. We would now like to invite you to take the next step and join the Schools' Workstream Group to represent schools' requirements on the project.

You know best what will make a real difference to you, so we need your help to explain to suppliers what your priorities are, ask them the right questions, make sure you have the opportunity to see their proposed solutions and tell us what you think.

We are looking for anyone who works in a school, teacher or administrator, who uses IT regularly and is keen to make a difference.

If you're interested, we'd need you to attend meetings at which we would discuss schools' feedback so far; we would create a formal set of requirements; you would meet suppliers, hear their proposals and give us feedback.

It's an exciting project but you will need to commit to attend a certain number of meetings, from now until early 2013.

There will be two or three a month, each lasting an hour, and supplier presentations in the autumn which will be spread across a number of consecutive half days. We can supply exact dates when you get in touch.
