Policies for the use of Hampshire IT services
Hampshire County Council believes in promoting and encouraging use of the computers facilities it provides including e-mail, internet access and the corporate intranet.
The Council endeavors to balance the ease of use of these computer systems with protecting its interests and the information held. To achieve this users are required to comply with an acceptable use policy. School-based employees are required to comply with relevant school policies.
The acceptable use policy defines the behaviours expected from all users of Council supplied computer systems and equipment.
The four principle behaviours are:
- to comply with UK law
- keep Council information secure at all times
- use Council systems and equipment responsibly and for their intended work purposes
- be aware their use of Council systems may be monitored in accordance with the e-mail, intranet and internet monitoring policy.
In summary, users must operate Council systems for their intended work purpose in a lawful, secure and responsible manner.
