Hampshire County Council and its partners swept the floor at the Corporate IT Forum 'Real IT' Awards in London, winning no less than 3 categories for its innovative and business-driven IT projects. And was also a Runner Up in one category.

Local Government IT Excellence Awards 2008

Hampshire Local Government Partnership, The Hampshire Regional Recruitment Portal is a project where 12 of the 15 local authorities in Hampshire joined to deliver a single technology solution for attracting candidates and managing the recruitment process across the authorities.

Good Communications Awards 2008

The introduction of new technology such as 'Thin Client' computing has been key to Hampshire County Council's green IT approach. The system relies on a central server for processing instead of individual PCs, which saves 792,000 kWh a year. With a typical home using 4,400 kWh per year, enough energy is now being saved to power 180 homes. Other benefits include reduced support costs and travel, with 22,000 fewer miles travelled by staff last year, a longer life span for equipment, and lower energy bills - all saving Hampshire tax payers nearly £1m a year. Hampshire's IT Services is commended in the IT Project Innovation category.

Information Security (ISO27001) accreditation 2008

Hampshire's IT gains Information Security Accreditation
We are only the second County Council to gain accreditation and there is a strong possibility that we will be the first public body in the UK to achieve both ISO27001 and ISO20000 standards.

Health & Social Care Awards 2008

Hampshire has won the Innovative Information and Communications Technology Award
Hampshire wins at regional level at the Health & Social Care Awards 2008 – South Central Regional Awards and now qualifies for the National Awards, to be decided in July.

The award relates to the development of the CareChoices on-line search facilities, which allow people to access up to date information about both Care homes and Care at home services in their area.

ISO 20000 accreditation -2008

IT Services has gained ISO 20000 accreditation the international standard for IT service management. This is an important achievement resulting from a great deal of hard work from many people over the last 18 months.

Every part of IT Services’ activities has been reviewed by three external audits. Accreditation will enable us to deliver improved IT performance, develop services more efficiently and work with departments to continuously improve the way we respond to the Council's needs. The County Council is the first in the country to achieve this recognition.

Transforming through Technology - short-listed for "Best IT Strategy"2007

Transforming through Technology, Hampshire's business-led IT strategy initiative, has been short-listed in the “Best IT Strategy” category of the Computing Awards for Excellence 2007.

Silver Surfer - "Event holder of the Year" 2006

Hampshire County Council is leading the way when it comes to helping older residents surf the world wide web. The Silver Surfer Council of the Year, a new category introduced this year, has been awarded to Hampshire for organising an impressive 101 events during Silver Surfers Week in May 2006 - a record since the event began in 2003.

Hantsnet wins National Awards for Effectiveness and Efficiency 2006

Effective IT 2006 - "Best Public Sector Project"
The County Council’s innovative Hantsnet Service has scooped the award for the most ‘Effective use of IT in the Public Service’ in the annual Effective IT Awards that are organised by leading IT professionals and celebrate best practice in the industry.

The Hantsnet Service delivers IT savings of over £4million a year compared with other public and private sector networks of a similar size.

e-Government National Awards - Local e-Government excellence: Efficiency 2006

Hampshire was joint winner for using electronic service delivery to improve the customer experience & improve local authority efficiency

Information Management 2005

Learn.IT portal - finalist
Hampshire County Council has been nominated for an Information Management Award for its on-line learning programme Learn.IT. The interactive learning tool is used by staff to help increase their skills and knowledge.

The County Council is in the Knowledge-management category, for the most innovative and successful knowledge management project.

Government Computing BT Awards 2005

Hampshire County Council's occupational therapy service OT Direct has won a prestigious national award for innovation in e-Government and use of technology, winning the Best Project - Government to Citizen category. The awards recognise the best and most innovative work in e-Government, and the County Council was one of seven category winners from a record 118 entries.
