Wellington Monument, Aldershot

 

Wellington Monument is an important local landmark, and Scheduled Ancient Monument, located at the western edge of Aldershot military town. A joint project with a number of partners was set up to look at restoration of the statue and its setting, and an historic landscape conservation study was commissioned.

Following major repairs to the monument, carried out by the Ministry of Defence with the assistance of English Heritage, the statue has been floodlit.
