Yateley Village Design Framework, Yateley
[click on image below for larger image]
The aim of the Village Design Framework is to establish a vision for this busy town centre in north Hampshire. Working in partnership with local groups, we have carried out a number of public consultations to establish this long term vision. Following previous workshops and exhibitions the Church End Green scheme has been identified as a first stage of this vision. The main principles are:
bring economic prosperity, local identity and community spirit to Church End Green and Yateley Town Centre;
reduce the severance caused by Reading Road, so knitting together the two sides of Church End Green and building a strong and safe location which is suitable for all;
improve, and give a positive perception of Church End Green by enhancing local distinctiveness, improving the quality of road/footpath surfacing and street furnishing, and encouraging improved community use of the Green; and
increase the attractiveness of the local centre for accessing local shops and services, reducing the need or desire to travel further afield.
