Therapeutic Landscapes

The benefits of our surroundings on health and well being are the subject of increasing interest and research, and are recognised as of value to everyone in all that we do.

We are encouraging development of  those landscapes provided as part of our services to older people, children and adults with physical, sensory or learning disabilities, to offer more therapeutic value, and to extend opportunities for their use.

We work in partnerships formed to suit each project, to:

  • Encourage a range of outdoor activities

Garden skittles at respite care unit, Orchard Close, Hayling Island
  • Develop safe spaces designed with our clients for specific uses

  • Develop sustainable site management arrangements

  • Involve and gain the support of the local community

There are close links between developing and managing landscapes for their therapeutic value and achieving more sustainable communities.
