Data Protection e-Learning

Hampshire Learning Centre, working with subject experts have developed a 10 minute e-Learning course to introduce you to the subject of Data Protection and how it effects you and that way in which you work.

What will the Data Protection e-Learning cover?

Data Protection and more specifically the Data Protection Act effects us all in different ways during our working day. From the way that we process data, the way we deal with requests for data and even your own rights and responsibilities, it is very important that you understand how you should react to each situation.

Skills for Care Common Induction Standards [CIS]

Learning aim:
The aim of this e-Learning module is to improve your knowledge of the Data Protection Act 1998. You will learn to deal with requests for personal information and raise your awareness of how the legislation may impact on your role at work.

Learning objectives:
By the end of this e-Learning you will:

• know what personal data is
• understand the requirements of the Act
• know about the eight principles of the Act
• understand individuals' rights to access personal data
• know who to contact about Subject Access Requests.

How to use the e-Learning:
Once you have begun the e-Learning please use the icons below to navigate your way through the e-Learning.
To navigate through the e-Learning simply click the "Back" or "Next" arrows  to move from page to page.
To return to the beginning of the course select the 'Home' button.

About this e-Learning

Visits and progression through the course are tracked so that training via e-Learning can be measured for effectiveness and provide a log as part of individual performance development.
This e-Learning is aimed at all staff - to raise general awareness and improve general working practice.
