Young People’s Basic Smoking Awareness e-Learning
Hampshire County Council, Smoke Free Hampshire and Isle of Wight Tobacco Control Alliance has developed a three part e-learning course to introduce you to basic awareness around smoking and young people.

To provide a basic awareness of the issues around smoking and young people and services offered to help young smokers quit.
Leaning Aim:
Module One: Smoking and Young People – The Facts
To increase knowledge of the rates of smoking among young people, why young people smoke, the health risks and other issues related to smoking, including legislation.
Module Two: Smoking Prevention and Education with Young People
To increase knowledge of different prevention and educational approaches with young people around smoking.
Module Three: Helping Young People to Stop Smoking
To raise awareness of the benefits of quitting and to increase knowledge of help available for young people who want to quit.
Learning Outcomes:
Module One
By the end of the module, participants will have:
Established the rates of smoking among young people
Discussed the reasons why young people start to smoke
Described the contents and health risks of cigarettes
Discussed the issues related to smoking among young people
Identified and described the legislation in relation to tobacco
Module Two
By the end of the module, participants will have:
Discussed methods of education and prevention of smoking with young people
Explored different types of interventions with young people
Module Three
By the end of the module, participants will have:
Identified the benefits of quitting
Explored how to raise the issue of smoking
Clarified the services available for young people from the local NHS Stop Smoking Services

About this e-Learning
