FAQs

Are online payslips being rolled out to all staff?

Everyone who is employed and paid by Hampshire County Council will access their payslip online and paper payslips will no longer be available other than in exceptional circumstance or where you have an accessibility issue due to an impairment. If you have access to ESS for online payslips these are still available, you can use ISS and ESS payslips together.

I haven't received an invitation to view my payslip online - what should I do?

If you have not received an invitation and wish to view your payslip online, please complete this form to request access or contact Pay & Contract Support Services on 023 8038 3000.

What should I do if I need a paper payslip?

You will be able to print off your payslip from your online facility. It is designed to be acceptable for mortgage applications as it clearly has your employer on the payslip and our Hampshire Rose logo. You can also save a copy to your personal computer.

What happens to my payslips if I leave Hampshire?

You will be able to view and print off your payslips for 12 months after leaving. Your access will then be turned off.

How secure is this system?

Your payslip data comes from Hampshire County Council’s SAP payroll system and is loaded to a secure Hampshire networked database server. It’s not connected to the internet directly and is therefore securely held by Hampshire and accessed by you through our firewall.

What email address can I use?

You can use any email address you choose, it can be your work email or a personal email that you have set up. The email you use must be exclusive to you for security reasons and we strongly recommend you don’t use a shared or family email address. The email address you choose will be set up as unique to you and the system will not allow this to be used by anyone else. So, for example, if you use a family email it will only work for you, any other family member who works for Hampshire County Council and would like to access online payslips will need to obtain a separate email address.

Is there any reason I will not be able to register for online payslips?

In the majority of cases you will be able to register for online payslips. However there are a number of areas where you will not be able register for instance:

  • if you do not have an email address that is unique to you
  • if you have more than one payslip from Hampshire County Council where you have separate contracts - in this case, you will need to have unique email addresses to view each payslip and register online for each contract.

I currently receive one payslip from Hampshire County Council but have multiple personnel numbers for different jobs, will online payslip work for me?

Your current paper payslip shows all your personnel numbers and payments on one payslip. Your online payslip will detail your personnel number and payments on one payslip, just like it does now. When you sign up you may use any of your personnel numbers to start the process as they are linked across your records.

What should I do if I have a problem registering online?

The system is easy to use and you should not have any problems. If you do encounter an issue then simply complete the online form at www.hants.gov.uk/payform or call Pay & Contract Support Services on 023 8038 3000. Make sure you have your personnel and National Insurance number available, as they will need to check your identity as part of the process (these can be found on your payslip or P60).

What should I do if I have an impairment that means I cannot access online payslips?

Speak to your line manager initially who will contact PCSS and authorise paper payslips to be reinstated and sent to your place of work.
