Password manager

Register for Password Manager and the next time you lock your Hantsnet account or need to reset your password, you can do this yourself instantly on the screen, no waiting and no need to contact anyone!

Registering

When you log on to Hantsnet a HantsConnect - Password Manager box will appear, click Register. If you close the box without registering it will appear next time you log on to Hantsnet until you complete the registration.

When the User Registration page opens, select 4 security questions using the dropdown arrow and type the answers below. Your answers must be a minimum of 5 characters, but they don't need to be factually correct, just make sure you use answers you will remember.

First registration screen

Click Enroll once you have answered 4 questions.

You will see a You have successfully enrolled! message if you have answered the questions correctly. If not review you answers making sure they are 5 characters or more.

You can change your security questions and/or answers at any time after you have registered - go to the Password Manager URL https://adselfserv.hants.gov.uk, log in, and select the Enrolment tab. If you forget your answers, you will have to contact Help Desk on 01962 847000. They will remove your current answers and you will then have to re-register.

Reset password

You will be asked the first of 2 security questions, they are randomly selected from the 4 you set up in registration. Type your answer in the Answer: field and click Continue, you only have a set amount of time to do this.

Answer the question

You have 5 attempts to get the answer correct, if you fail all 5 attempts, password manager will block you from using it for one week and you will see a message saying Your account is blocked. You can’t perform Password Reset / “Account Unlock”. Contact your Administrator. You can either wait or raise a Heat call asking the Helpdesk (01962 847000) to delete your Password Manager account so that you can then re-register.

You will be asked a second security question, type your answer in the Answer: field and click Continue.

The Reset Password screen will open, type in your New Password and type the same password in the Confirm New Password field, then click Reset Password.

Set up new password

Your password needs to meet the minimum requirements, and contain each of the three types of character;

  • upper case letters (A-Z)

If it doesn't you will receive a warning message.
