Changes to library opening hours

The proposed changes to library opening hours were approved by the Executive Member for Culture and Recreation on 20th January 2012. The changes will come into effect from 1 April 2012, with the exception of North Baddesley and Stanmore libraries which are involved in a separate consultation.

Summary of the response to consultation

Consultation ran from 29 September to 28 December 2011. Over 5500 responses were received from customers, public, staff and local councils. All responses were considered and the comments taken into account during the review at the end of the consultation period.

Consultation proposed changes to the opening hours for 37 of the 53 libraries within Hampshire. Based on the response received during consultation alterations were made to the proposed changes for 26 of these 37 libraries (70%).

North Baddesley and Stanmore Libraries are covered by a separate consultation and review process which continues until June 2011.
