What's on for children

Libraries hold events for children throughout the year especially during the school holidays!
Most events are free with tickets available from your local library.

  Storytimes
  Stories and simple activities to introduce parents and pre-school children to a wide range of picture books and to help young children develop good listening skills.

  Reading Groups and book clubs, including Chatterbooks and groups for families and teens.

  Baby Rhymetimes and Toddlertimes

  Bookcrawls
  Babies and children aged 0 to 4 years old can collect one sticker to put in their collector's card on each visit to a library to borrow a book. After five stickers they will get a beautifullly illustrated certificate.

  Summer Reading Challenge
  A national scheme run every year during the summer holidays. The aim of the challenge is for children to read six books from their local library  with collectable incentives and rewards, plus a certificate for every child who completes the challenge.
