Mythical Maze Summer Reading Challenge is running in all Hampshire libraries from Saturday 12 July to Saturday 13 September.

The aim of the challenge is get children aged 4 to 11 to read six books from their local library (or share them with an adult) over the summer holidays. It is free, and children collect reading rewards along the way, plus a certificate and medal when they reach six books. The Mythical Maze website enables children to record the books they read and gives access to competitions and games as they progress.

Children’s reading can ‘dip’ during the long summer holidays. The Reading Agency's annual Summer Reading Challenge helps get three quarters of a million children into libraries to maintain their reading skills and confidence. Because everything changes when we read. Over 26,000 children in Hampshire took part in Creepy House, last year’s theme.
