Learning in Libraries

We are delighted with the transformation of five of our Libraries as a result of our BIG Lottery award in 2008. Versatile public spaces, a wide range of clubs and events, and an exciting learning programme re-enforce the Libraries’ role and allow us to deliver the Library and Information Service’s vision to be “A creative service at the heart of Hampshire communities which prides itself on meeting their evolving needs for reading, information, learning and enjoyment”.

Hampshire Learning is responsible for the funding, quality and delivery of learning opportunities within the LEAD Project.
The funding currently supports adult learners attending a variety of courses in order to:

  • gain knowledge and skills and develop interests and confidence
  • support their family’s learning
  • become active in their neighbourhoods and communities
  • gain relevant qualifications
  • prepare for employment
