Newspapers & Magazines

Newspapers
A wide variety of newspapers and magazines are taken in Hampshire's libraries. Depending on the size of the library, magazine titles will vary from just a handful through to over 100 current titles at the very largest libraries. All libraries provide a local newspaper.
Most libraries keep copies of newspapers and magazines.

Magazines
Large libraries will normally keep files of general interest magazines for a time scale varying between several months to several years . Those magazines which are of local interest are kept permanently in Local Studies collections. There are a number of Special Collections in the county and the holding library will keep permanent files of the selected periodicals on these topics

Reference Online
Hampshire libraries subscribe to several online resources which provide full text newspaper and magazine articles.  These include:
The Economist , New Statesman, The Spectator, Times Digital Archive 1785 – 1985
