About the refurbishment

The refurbished library has been designed  to meet modern standards and is bright, spacious and lively.  It is now an open and welcoming environment for families with a colourful children’s area and new and improved reading stock for the rest of the community.

Technology is also at the forefront of improvements with four computers instaled offering users free Internet access. Self service technology will make loaning and renewing books more efficient giving staff time to provide a more personalised service to the libraries users.

In addition to the library space being doubled, extended opening hours mean the facility will be open for 17 and a half hours week, up from 14 hours a week.
