If you have checked the library catalogue but have been unable to find anything that can provide you with the information that you need we may still be able to help you.
You can use the requests service to order specific items that are not in stock.
However we can undertake research on your behalf if you have been unable to:
- identify a specific title or journal article in our stock
- want to know if there is any information available on a specific topic
- have a query on a particular subject
Trained staff will check a range of sources, including print, online databases and the internet. They will try to find the information you need or will identify books, articles or other sources that can help you.
The first half hours research is free of charge, after that we charge per half hour. You may request searches of up to 2 hours per application.
We are not able to offer long term, more in-depth research or genealogical, market or technical research.
- £26 per hour (first half hour free)
This charge is for the time we spend on research, not for the results. The charge does not cover reservation or request charges, hire charges, copying fees or copyright charges.
If you would like us to research a particular topic on your behalf please complete the Research Service application form.
There is no charge if you prefer to visit your local library to consult the information held on site.
The staff will be pleased to help you try to find the information you need.
