We are looking for enthusiastic people who are interested in volunteering at the Discovery Centre.
Why Volunteer?

No previous experience is necessary, full training and support is given.
All successful applicants will be CRB checked.
How much time do you have to give?
Anything from a minimum of two hours a week, to as much as you can commit to regularly

Volunteer this Summer at Winchester Discovery Centre
The Summer Reading Challenge is a national scheme run in libraries during the summer holidays. The challenge is simple, to read six or more library books over the summer.
Our volunteers will help in promoting and delivering the Summer Reading Challenge.
Encouraging children to join the Summer Reading Challenge Registering children for the Summer Reading ChallengeExplaining to children and their parents / carers how to take partEncouraging children to discuss what they have been readingTo give out rewards to children who completes the Summer Reading Challenge
The qualities and skills volunteers must have are:
Qualities
- A responsible attitude to work
- An interest in libraries
- A friendly outgoing personality
- Enjoy being with children
Skills
- To accurately complete the registration forms
- Good communication skills
Young volunteers can use it towards a Duke of Edinburgh award.
