The Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire is Dame Mary Fagan DCVO JP
Dame Mary Fagan DCVO JP was appointed Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire in January 1994 and is Her Majesty’s representative in the County and is responsible for arrangements made for Royal Visits to the County.
Born at Gonalstone Hall, Nottinghamshire on 11 September 1939, Dame Mary Fagan is married to Captain Christopher Fagan and they have lived for over 40 years in Hampshire.
During that time Dame Mary Fagan has been involved in numerous community projects, medical and charitable bodies, both as Chairman and a member of the Managing Boards. She is currently President and patron of over 60 organisation in Hampshire and maintains a keen interest in all aspects of life in Hampshire, including education, commerce, industry, the armed forces, and voluntary organisations.
Dame Mary Fagan is an Honorary Commodore in the Royal Naval Reserve and Honorary Colonel 457 Battery RA and is Chairman of the Advisory Committee for Magistrates.
The Lord-Lieutenant was made a Dame of the Royal Victorian Order by The Queen in the Birthday Honours list announced on 13th June 2009.
The Lieutenancy is comprised of a Vice Lord-Lieutenant and an establishment of Deputy Lieutenants (currently 50).
