Eversley
Eversley lies South of the River Blackwater and rises, amid attractive woodlands, to 300ft. above sea level.
Warbrook House was built in 1724 by John James, pupil of Christopher Wren. There are also other interesting houses from the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
Charles Kingsley was Rector of Eversley from 1844 until his death in 1875 and is buried in the churchyard. The church, rebuilt in 1724, was restored as a memorial to Charles Kingsley a year after his death, and includes a restored Georgian screen.
