Locks Heath

The area of Locks Heath was originally part of Titchfield Common, and became part of the strawberry growing industry after enclosure in 1866. At first the strawberries were sold in Portsmouth and Southampton but, after the opening of the Swanwick Railway Station in 1886, they were sent to London.

Locks Heath now lies within the Fareham Western Wards growth area and planned development has provided industry, housing and schools together with associated community facilities.
