Learning Outside the Classroom

Learning Outside the Classroom

A High Quality Learning offer to Hampshire County Council’s schools

Working in partnership with Hampshire County Council’s Children’s Services, this site represents a practical response of Culture, Communities and Business Services to the national Manifesto for Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) from the Department for Education

It is vital for all young people, from the very young to older teenagers, to experience learning outside the classroom as part of their normal lessons, and beyond, and to have a range of experiences that help them to grow and develop. It is our desire to ensure that schools, children and young people have access to facilities and experiences that deepen learning and provide challenge and inspiration.

Working closely in partnership with Schools, Education Centres, Youth Centres and other young person settings, our aim is to provide a local, Hampshire based ‘offer’ of practical access to all forms of LOtC for all schools, children and young people from the sites, facilities, staff and resources that form the Culture, Communities and Business Services department.

This offer is a promise to Hampshire schools and young people. This is what we can do for you, and in partnership with you. Together we can really bring Learning Outside the Classroom alive, making it real and accessible.
