Getting to Winchester

By Rail

Trains run direct from Oxford, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Scotland. Fast trains run from London Waterloo three times an hour.

Direct services also operate from most surrounding areas including Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth, Woking and Reading.

The County Council offices are about a five minute walk from Winchester station. Leave the station via platform two and follow the signs to the County Council offices.

By Bus and Coach

Coach services operated by National Express call at Winchester from London (Victoria) and Heathrow via the M3, and from the Midlands. The coach stop is situated in the Broadway opposite the Guildhall, about half a mile from the County Council offices. For further information call 0870 580 8080 or visit www.nationalexpress.com

Park and Ride

Leave the M3 at junction 10 (Bar End) and follow signs for the Park and Ride car park. Buses run every 10 - 15 minutes and parking is available all day.

Parking

There are numerous car parks throughout the city, however, parking at peak times can be very busy.  If you are travelling by car and are a blue badge holder, or require assistance, designated accessible parking can be arranged.  Please call 01962 847304.

By Road

Route 1 - from the north (London via M3)

Leave the motorway at junction nine, join the A272 and follow signs for central Winchester. The County Council offices are at the top of the High Street; follow signs for Hampshire County Council.

Route 2 - from the west

Leave the M4 at junction 13 and travel south along the A34, then join the B3420 Andover Road which takes you straight into central Winchester; follow signs for Hampshire County Council.

Route 3 - from the south (via M3)

Leave the M3 at junction 11 and follow signs along St Cross Road and Southgate Street into the city centre. Turn left at the traffic signal junction with the High Street. The County Council offices are 200 yards up the High Street on the right.
