Everest Community College
The new Everest Community College, which replaced the nearby John Hunt of Everest School on Popley Way, was completed in the summer of 2007 and opened in September 2007 in time for the new school year.The school provides enhanced education and community facilities for up to 750 pupils between the ages of 11 and 16 and local residents from both the new and existing communities.
The school includes a sports hall, gymnasium, music suite, assembly hall, and a cafe. It also has a health and fitness suite, floodlit pitches and a dedicated community suite that includes access to computers and youth group facilities.
The cost of the new school building has been met by the sale of the existing school site, developers' contributions, and by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council which has contributed to the cost of the community facilities.
