Arranging a visit to Milestones

There are various things to consider when booking a visit to Milestones.

  • Firstly you need to consider which programme you are interested in. This website gives detailed information on all of our schools programmes.
  • You also need to think about when you would like to visit. It’s worth trying to have a few possible dates in mind when you phone us, as at certain times of the year we are very busy and we may not be able to accommodate you on your first choice of date.
  • To book your visit, please call 01256 403905 or email milestones.museum@hants.gov.uk. We will be able to advise you on available dates and times.

When you make your booking you will be asked for several pieces of information

  • The number of children and adults you would like to bring
  • Contact details for your school so that we can send you your booking confirmation
  • If there are any specific needs your pupils have such as learning or physical difficulties
  • If your group would like to visit the shop or pre-order Goody bags from our Gift Shop
  • If you would like to book copies of our activity sheets. These are available on this website in the resources section. All you need to do is note down the reference numbers of the sheets you would like and let us know this information when you make your booking.

Pre-visits

Pre-visits are recommended. You can either make your own independent familiarisation visit during normal opening hours or make an appointment to see our Education Officer. Further information about making a pre-visit.

After booking

Once you have made your booking, you will be sent

  • Confirmation of your booking with the date, times, number of children and adults and the programme you have booked
  • The session plan for your programme (and a map if you are booked on an audioguide programme)
  • Notes for teachers and adult helpers
  • Your itinerary for the day
  • A copy of our Guidelines for Education Groups
