The Core Strategy
The Core Strategy was adopted in July 2007 and was the first strategy to be adopted in England. A subsequent challenge in the High Court by the Assocation of British Ports in 2009 resulted in the quashing of some policies.
With the quashing of some of the policies wthin the Core Strategy following its adoption there is an opportunity to update and review the plan in its entireity. We’re proposing to develop a single Hampshire Minerals and Waste Plan - this will save time and money and builds on our adopted Core Strategy. The latest information on progress with this work can be found on our consultation pages.
Although the Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton Minerals and Waste Local Plan has been mostly superseded by the Core Strategy as of June/July 2007, there are still some site specific policies that have been retained until the Hampshire Minerals & Waste Plan is adopted.
