The County Council works in partnership with Portsmouth and Southampton city councils and the national park authorities (New Forest and South Downs [April 2011]) to process applications for mineral and waste developments and the County Council’s own planning applications, including for schools and libraries.

Draft Hampshire Minerals and Waste Plan

Notice of publication of proposed changes to the Plan for comment on their soundness
Consultation begins on Monday, 22 October for 8 weeks until 5pm on Monday, 17 December 2012

The public examination of the draft Hampshire Minerals and Waste Plan has reached the next stage after a number of public hearing sessions were held at Hampshire County Council offices, Elizabeth II Court, Winchester on 6 - 8 and 11 - 15 June 2012. The Inspector adjourned the hearings on 15 June pending a further consultation on main changes to the Plan which in his opinion needed review to ensure that the Plan is sound. The proposed changes are now the focus of a consultation that begins on Monday 22nd October 2012, and closes at 5pm on Monday 17 December 2012. Representations are welcome on the soundness of the proposed changes, representations on the remainder of the Plan are not required.
