What happens next?
After abuse has been reported to Hampshire County Council, the following will happen:
Within 24 hours

Assess the seriousness of situation, appropriate level of intervention, and level of risk and action needed to ensure safety.

Identify worker to undertake enquiry/liaison.

If a serious/high risk situation, undertake strategy discussions with Police, CQC and other agencies and teams.

Acknowledge the referral in writing.

Record actions and decisions taken.
Within 7 days

Convene a multi-agency Strategy Planning Meeting to be chaired by Adult Services. The meeting will consider the following:

review risk status and safety issues.

consider consent and capacity issues.
-
consider legal powers potentially available to protect the alleged victim.

agree an action plan identifying what will be investigated and by whom.

Record actions and decisions taken.
Within 21 days
-
Convene a case conference to be chaired by Adult Services.
-
Review information gathered, risk status and safety issues.
-
Agree and record a Protection Plan stating who will do what, timescales and monitoring and review arrangements.

Record actions and decisions taken.
